BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (HONOURS)

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) introduced the B.Com (Honors) programmed to its basket of contemporary and progressive programmed, in June 2010. This programmed caters to commerce aspirants who desire to build their professional competence on a higher plateau with specialized knowledge in the field of Business and Commerce. The curriculum is duly developed considering the desired level of knowledge exposure in the context of ever changing environment in global business

The three year B.Com (Honors) degree programmed is divided into six semesters and is designed as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) model curriculum prescribed by U.G.C. It includes core papers, discipline specific electives, generic electives and skill enhancement courses. Discipline specific electives offered in the fifth and the sixth semesters are in the following streams: Finance & Investment and Banking & Insurance. Students are required to undertake a research work (research article or report) during the fifth and the sixth semesters.

Students are also required to complete two inter-disciplinary open elective courses in diverse disciplines [Humanities / Sciences] during the first two years of the B.Com (Honors) programmed after regular class hours.

The Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) programmed at CHRIST, develops business graduates who understand their responsibilities as global and national citizens; and as leaders in economic, environmental, social and cultural sustainability and well-being.

Eligibility and Selection Process

ELIGIBILITY
Pass in class 12 (10+2) is the minimum eligibility for applying / admission. Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations: Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits. Applicants pursuing G.C.E / Ed excel must have a minimum of 3 A levels grade not less than C.

SELECTION PROCESS
1) Selection for the programmed will be based on the performance in class XII of the academic year. After processing the Application forms of candidates whose supporting documents are submitted to the office within 3 days of the declaration of the class XII result (Karnataka P.U.C/I.S.C/C.B.S.E), the cut off percentage will be declared and displayed on the University notice board/University website. No postal/telephonic/e-mail communication will be given from the University. Other Boards whose results may be declared after the above mentioned Boards will be considered subject to availability of seats. The University does not authorize any individual or organization to operate on its behalf.2) Candidate will be intimated through app stat link: https://appstat.christuniversity.in/ on the University website www.christuniversity.in. No other communication will be made.3) Candidates failing to submit the application within the stipulated date and time will be considered as “Not Selected”.4) Candidates not submitting the category certificate from the concerned Karnataka authorities will fall under general merit.5) Only Natives of Karnataka, who can produce relevant documents from their Parish Priest/Pastor, will be considered under “CHRISTIANITY CATHOLIC” and “CHRISTIANITY NON-CATHOLIC” category.   6) B.Com Regular Programmed classes are held from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM. Students applying to B.Com shall give an undertaking that, they do not intend to pursue CA programmed (The new pattern of CA programmed enables article ship immediately after the C.P.T and hence students cannot attend the regular B.Com classes).
