About Christ University Bangalore
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationalist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India.
He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
Established in 1969 as Christ College, it undertook path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of Holistic Education and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff.

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (MORNING)
Duration of Course: 3 years / 6 semesters

Objectives of this Course:
- To provide a strong foundation level understanding of the functioning of business organizations, commercial transactions, and of various specialized operations such as accounting, finance, and marketing by offering a comprehensive curriculum.
- To facilitate the skills and support required for careers in Community Development and state government jobs.
- The unique timing of the program caters specifically to deserving students of socio-economically stressed backgrounds who are required to work and support their families financially during the program.
- To nurture the students in intellectual, personal, interpersonal, and societal skills with a bent on Holistic Education.
Highlights of this course:
- Unique timing enables students to take up internships/part-time jobs post classes.
- The three year B Com degree program (morning track) is divided into six semesters. It includes 35 core papers besides English & Language papers. Finance and Marketing Electives are offered in the fifth and the sixth semesters. Students are required to undertake NGO project at the end of first year and summer internship project at the end of second year.
- Students are also required to complete two mandatory certificate courses offered by the department. Each certificate course will enable students to earn two extra credits.
BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (FINANCE AND ACCOUNTANCY)
Duration of Course: 3 years / 6 semesters
B Com (Finance and Accountancy) programme aims to nurture auditing and taxation professionals who become change agents in advising the corporate and thereby bring in higher standards in corporate governance and due diligence for sustainable socio-economic growth of the nation.
