Christ University was established in 1969 as Christ College. From 1990, it initiated path breaking reforms in higher education by introducing modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of holistic education with the support of creative and dedicated staff. Christ University was declared as “Deemed to be University” in the year 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

Program Offered by Christ-

The BBA program offered by the university is one of the most sought after courses. Christ University Entrance Test is conducted for BBA, BBA (Hons), BBA (Finance and International Business), BBA (Finance and Accountancy), BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), LLM, B Com (Hons), B Com (International Finance), B Com (Professional), BA-CEP and BHM.

B.Com (International Finance) with specialization in international accounting, auditing and finance is proposed with a view to create talents of competency to handle theory and practice of the subject which will be immense value to accounting firms and large business undertakings with substantial global exposure and also for pursuit of higher education.

BBA Finance and Accountancy-

This is an unique course offered by Christ University that offers conceptual and practical skills in management and commerce. This program is run in collaboration with Association of Chartered Certified Accounts (ACCA), the largest professional accounting body in the world. Founded in 1904 ACCA offers Chartered certified Accountant equalisation on successful completion of course.

BBA F&A is also a Bachelor of Business Administration course, but it is specialised in Finance and Accounting. This course only focuses on the concepts in Finance and Accounts rather than Business Administration as a whole.

The business world is and has always been a major part for any society and this course equips you with the right knowledge and skills in accounting and finance: the two important factors in any business and business corporation.

BBA F&A is focused on developing business skills. It is a professional course which includes theoretical knowledge about basic accounting and finance marketing but BBA F&A provides practical experience through internships, industrial training all of which are an important part of course. It is suggested that students who wish to pursue MBA should opt for a BBA.

BBA Fees Details-

INR 81,000/- in the first year should be paid by the candidates residing in TN/ KE/ AP/ Goa and INR 91,000/- should be paid by candidates residing in other states
INR 1,25,000/- should be paid in the 1st year, 1,37,500/- in the second year and 1,50,000/- in the third year should be paid by NRI students
USD 2,800/-PA should be paid by students from Saarc/ Africa/ Person of Indian Origin/ Overseas Citizenship and USD 3,000/- PA should be paid by other foreign nationals
Candidates are required to pay the fees of first-year immediately after the confirmation of admission

Eligibility Criteria-

Basic eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) in any stream (Commerce &Sciences) from any recognised Board in India with a minimum score of 60%.

Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May ‘2024’ may apply with their class X and XI marks.

Admission Process-

Admission to the program is mostly based on an aptitude or an entrance exam conducted by colleges and universities. This is followed by a group discussion and personal interview which is present in all colleges.

The sale of application forms for admission to Christ University begins from December to March. The exam takes place in April.

Placements Record-

The placements are pretty good, and reputed companies walk in for interviews and students have wide options. The placement training programs ensure students are well-prepared to face the interviews. Since this course is CA integrated course, even companies come in after each attempt to conduct interviews. Many reputed banks and companies come for interviews, KPMG, Deloitte, PWC are just some names.

Reputed and prestigious companies like big 4, IT, consultancy companies and also startups have offered decent salary packages for UG students. Salary packages offered were ranging from 2 LPA to 6 LPA. The college has a strong placement cell and good alumni contacts, which is helping many students to get placed. As there are many students, there is a tough competition.

More than 70% students got placed. Placement is not available for all the students because many are pursuing CA. About 70% to 80% students are benefited among the students for whom placement is available. The college also takes classes and prepares students for placements. Students are informed about the company and salary offered, few days before only, so that students can prepare well. Training provided by the college is very important and beneficial.

Academic Options after BBA-

The obvious option which students choose immediately after BBA is MBA (Masters of Business Administration). A combination of BBA and MBA is considered helpful in gaining constant promotions and high-salary jobs in the business world.

A Masters or post-graduation in Management Studies, Human Resource Development Management, Financial Planning and Wealth Management etc. are also good options.
