Initially the institute was established in the year 1944 at Trichur in the name Carmel College and later in the year 1948 the college was shifted to Bangalore.

Admission Procedure
- Application forms for admission for the academic year 202-2024 for PG Programs & Global MBA Programs are open.
- Application forms for admission for the academic year 2022-2024 for UG Programs will be available from 21st January, 2022
- Applications are accepted online only.
- Fees for the application forms must be paid through the Payment Gateway (Online Payment)
- Application fee for UG & Integrated B.Ed Programs is Rs. 590/-, PG & Diploma Programs is Rs. 826/-, and Global MBA Programs is Rs. 1180/-.
- Fees should be paid on the day of the interview.
- Students are expected to study one mandatory language (i.e., the second language studied during the last qualifying examination)
- It is mandatory to upload a soft copy of the Applicant’s recent passport size photo and signature on the application (less than 100 KB)

Admission Criteria
- Admission for B.Com programs is purely based on merit.
- Admittance for B.B.A, Communication Studies, B.Sc IDM programs will be based on an Entrance Examination (for further details, please check the respective Department Pages on the website)
- Admittance to the B.C.A program will be granted after a walk-in-interview which is conducted after the announcement of II PUC results (Students must belong to a Mathematics background during their PUC/ +2/ an equivalent course)
- Admittance to the B.A/ B.Sc and B.Voc programs will be granted after a walk-in-interview which will be conducted after the announcement of II PUC results.
- Admittance to all PG programs is based on merit.

- Students who have completed two years Pre-University Course in Commerce of Karnataka or Class XII of CBSE/ISC or equivalent there to are eligible to apply for B.Com. Programs.
- Business Studies –
- Students who have completed two-year Pre-University Course in Commerce/ Arts/ Science/ of Karnataka / Class XII – CBSE/ISC or Equivalent there to are eligible to seek admission to B.B.A Degree Course. Further, they are required to,
- Take a written admission test in Maths, English, Reasoning, Aptitude, Current Affairs, and General Knowledge.
- Participate in a Group Discussion and
- Undergo a Personal Interview
Admission Checklist
- A soft copy of the Applicant’s recent passport size photo and signature must be uploaded with the application.
- Those who are claiming admission under the reservation category must submit an attested copy of the Caste/ Income Certificate while submitting the hard copy of the application to the Admittance Office (validity up to 5 years)
- Catholics should submit the latest Baptism Certificate and a letter from the Parish Priest of their Church.
- Differently-abled candidates should enclose a copy of Disability or Handicap Certificates issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
