ABOUT CHRIST UNIVERSITY

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was founded by followers of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara in 1969 and works under the administration of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI).

It was first established as Christ College but was granted Autonomy in 2004 by the UGC and declared a Deemed to be University.

The University is to be referred to as CHRIST (Deemed to be University). There are two campuses: • Bannerghatta Road Campus • Kengeri Campus Affiliations & Recognition: ● CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has been granted Autonomy by UGC, and hence is not affiliated to any other University. ● Awarded grade ‘A’ by NAAC in the 4-point scale in 1998, 2004, and 2016. ● Identified as Institution with Potential for Excellence in 2006 by the UGC.
