BCom (Honours) at Christ University

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) introduced the B-Com (Honors) programmed to its basket of contemporary and progressive programmed, in June 2010. This programmed caters to commerce aspirants who desire to build their professional competence on a higher plateau with specialized knowledge in the field of Business and Commerce. The curriculum is duly developed considering the desired level of knowledge exposure in the context of ever changing environment in global business.

The three year BCom (Honor’s) degree programmed is divided into six semesters and is designed as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) model curriculum prescribed by UGC. It includes core papers, discipline specific electives, generic electives and skill enhancement courses. Discipline specific electives offered in the fifth and the sixth semesters are in the following streams: Finance & Investment and Banking & Insurance. Students are required to undertake a research work (research article or report) during their sixth semester.

Students are also required to complete two inter-disciplinary open elective courses in diverse disciplines [Humanities / Sciences] during the first two years of the BCom (Honours) programmed after regular class hours. Successful completion of two such courses is mandatory for obtaining the BCom (Honours) degree. Each open elective course will enable students to earn two extra credits.

Eligibility

Eligibility for the programmed is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) with not less than 60% from any recognised Board in India.

Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2022 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:

Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.

It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for three years, there may be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.

  1. NRI fee is applicable for the first year for candidates who have studied foreign syllabus (has to be approved by UGC / AIU) in the qualifying examination of study in India. (The above condition is not applicable to NRI and candidates applied under NRI Category).
  2. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programmed for candidates who;

2.1. Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.

2.2. Are NRI and candidates who have applied under the NRI category.

  1. To claim the Indian / Karnataka category fee, the candidates should have studied last 7 years in India / Karnataka. (Not applicable for OCI, PIO and Foreign Nationals).
  2. Admission registration fee of INR 5000/- is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of admission. This fee will be apart from cancellation charges if applicable.
  3. All Candidates If “Selected” after appearing for the final selection process, the fee may be paid through the following option:

Payment / Transfer of fees does not guarantee admission.

Admission Process

Selection process results will be available on https://espro.christuniversity.in/Application/ according to the important dates section. Selected candidates will receive an E-Offer of admission that will be valid up to the date mentioned in the Offer of admission.

All selected candidates must note that admission is provisional and subject to University rules.

Selected candidates must download the offer of admission on the ‘Application Status’ link on the University website.

To Process Admission

Candidates must choose the preferred date and time from available options to facilitate a smooth admission process.

Admission must be processed at the campus where the programmed is offered as published in the offer of admission.

As per UGC guidelines, fee payment has to be made through online mode.

Payment options and details will be available in the offer of admission.

Fees for the first year including Admission Registration fee must be paid in full as part of the admission process.

All original marks cards and one set of photocopies must be submitted for verification at the time of admission as mentioned below

Class 10 Marks Statement and Class 11/12 Marks Statement (Mandatory).

Transfer Certificate (TC) of Class 12 from the last qualified institution must be submitted by 30 August 2024 (Mandatory).

Migration Certificate of Class 12 (applicable for all candidates except Karnataka state board applicants) must be submitted by 30 August 2024 (Mandatory).

One Stamp size and one passport size photograph formal dress with a white background (Mandatory).

Two Copies of the Online Payment Acknowledgment (Mandatory).

Copy of valid ID proof (Aadhar Card and PAN Card).

Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:

  • Copy of Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory).
  • PIO / OCI have to produce a copy of the PIO / OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory).
  • Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC) from any recognized medical practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India and
  • Resident Permit (RP) (If available while applying)

All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process.
