Christ College
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationalist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
Established in 1969 as Christ College, it undertook path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of Holistic Education and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff. The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India conferred Autonomy to Christ College in 2004 and identified it as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in 2006.
In 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India, declared the institution a Deemed to be University, in the name and style of Christ University. One of the first institutions in India to be accredited in 1998 by the NAAC, and subsequently in 2004 and 2016, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has the top grade ‘A’ in the 4-point scale.
The multi-disciplinary University which focuses on teaching research and service offers Bachelors to Doctoral programmers in humanities, social sciences, science, commerce, management, engineering, education, and law to over 21000 students.

This programmed caters to commerce aspirants who desire to build their professional expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics – skills that are in demand by organizations around the world.

Students pursuing the B.Com (Strategic Finance Honors) programmed will undergo the CMA coursework as part of their regular curriculum. The two parts of CMA papers, are divided into five regular courses and integrated into the main curriculum. How hard is it to get a B.Com in strategic finance at Christ University?
- It is very easy, before you take tension about its entrance exam spend some time thinking, what you want to do with the degree which they are providing.
- As per my research and knowledge, I feel that the paper is not exactly very tough.
- It is divided into 3 sections. English, Logical Reasoning and Math. There are about 50 questions’ in each section and you get only 120 mins to solve them with the drawback of negative marking
- From my personal experience
- English was a relatively easier section because it covered grammar, comprehension passages and word meanings.
- Logical Reasoning was also easy with relationships, syllogism and easy puzzles like that.
- Lastly math’s was a bit tough and since there was a fear of negative marking. Nut its not too much difficult it’s just depend on your preparation.
- What I would suggest is you make a strategy like you finish off with the easy sections first so that you have ample time for the one you find difficult.

Application Process:
- Application forms is available from December 8, 2018 and it’s open until 31-May-‘2024’. Candidates are required to choose the preferred date and time from available options to facilitate smooth admission process.
- All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process.
- An undertaking for pending original documents unavailable currently [applicable only for candidates writing / passing their exam in March – June ‘2024’], must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. These documents must be submitted on or before July 15, ‘2024’.
Placements Record-
Placements at Christ University Bangalore is a pleasant experience because of its state-of-the-art facilities. Generally, the selection process starts with a pre-placement talk which is followed by a written test, group discussion, interview etc. Student representatives from each class will be present to provide assistance throughout the selection process.
The Placement Office takes the initiative to explore new career avenues for graduates and post graduates through visits to new companies and unexplored sectors. Campus recruitment are organized every year. The selection process generally starts with a pre-placement talk in which a firm/organization gives the students insights into the company profile, job profile, career path, CTC etc. which is followed by the actual selection process i.e., written test, group discussion, interview etc.
The college has a decent placement. Many companies come for placements to Christ as of the U.G degree of B.Com. The average package is of 4 LPA, and when the big 4 companies like K.P.M.G, Deloitte, Ernst, and young Dshaw the package is of around 4-8 LPA. As of placements, there are 100% placements in the college.
Placements opportunities are available here; many good companies offer good business opportunities depending upon the elective chosen by the student namely finance or marketing. Internship opportunities are less as only a few companies will be ready to hire interns.
